I could rant forever on the sheer idiocy that is these 'pre-existing conditions', but I'll refrain. Suffice it to say that I adore my country right now (despite how messed-up it can be from an economic point of view) simply because everyone and their grandmother is covered by state insurance as long as they work or they have a relative willing to take them on their payroll.

I've never heard of anyone being denied treatment on the reasoning that your insurance companies use. Over here, it's simple -- you're unhealthy, you get treated. The state will even cover the cost of your medication if it's particularly debilitating affliction.
