Due to reasons I wish not to detail, I have to go testify in court tomorrow. This is my first time being in court ever. Any tips guys? My only experience is from watching Court TV or Phoenix Wright games. Which aren't helpful.

I've had to deal with court due to some crazy family stuff |C
The only tips I can really think of are dress nicely, be respectful, use the restroom beforehand, eat a light meal if you're nervous, or a big one if it's going to take a while, drink water, and try and not let the atmosphere get to you <:3

I'll try to eat light, hopefully the entire session won't last more then a few hours.

Just tell the all out truth, everything and anything you know. A truthful testimonial is very important for a case to have true justice. Even if it's emotionally troubling or scary, each bit of truthful information counts.

*hugs* Hang in there~

Tell them the truth and remember to breath and take deep breath. It'll help alleviate the stress a little.

*hugs*

I totally agree with the others. Be truthful, respectful, dress nice and comfortable, use the ladies room and drink some water. I recommend eating a light soup too. Good luck babe.

I did jury duty last year, so to cover things not yet brought up:

*bring something to do. there will be lots of downtime, so bring your DS or some books or something to write on.

*Don't talk to anyone. You're pretty much going to be forbidden from talking to anyone in the jury, the other side's lawyers, the judge, etc, which extends to "you know what, just don't talk to anyone ever," even if you're just passing in the hallway.

*If you take food, take plastic utensils. Because they totally will not let you into the courthouse itself with metal forks.

*If your courthouse has vending machines or a restaurant, they will be overpriced. However, slightly more convenient than bringing your own food, so pick which you think suits your style better.

*Bring something to do.

*While dressing nice is a good idea, more important is picking something you're comfortable sitting in for several hours at a time. You're either going to be in benches or chairs the whole time, whether or not you're in the courtroom itself or waiting outside.

*Don't bother taking your cellphone.

I've been told I cannot bring anything into the courtroom including my stuff to keep me occupied. So um, I can try bringing something but for the most part I'll have to listen in.

The entire precedings shouldn't last more then ~3 hours but if they do end up running a while I'll grab a quick snack.

Thanks.

Keep it cool. Answer truthfully.

...

Yeah, that's all I got.
