Argh, this episode was a disappointment. Bad in both story and animation. I had to wait two weeks for this episode? O.o

Even worse, my internet fries out last night. It came back this morning, but I only had enough time to watch the episode before I had to leave. And when I got back in afternoon after running errands all morning it blows out again for about 30 minutes. Fuck you 50 mph winds, fuck you.

I feel so bad for Aki, she had a fucked up past with a abusive father and her only friend died in front of her. Its so sad. It almost reminds me of Lucy's past from Elfen Lied except toned way down and a lot less graphic. And replace psychic powers with invisible arms XD

The animation was also sucky, almost as bad as 16 was(and its also an Aki ep >_0

But even though I feel really bad for her, I find it hard to like her now. She has the poorest quality episodes, very little character development for her, she has the maturity of a 12 year old, and she cries at the drop of a hat. I liked her at first because finally we had gotten a female character who was strong, important to the plot, killed people and had the potential to be awesome.

But on the flip side, Martha is a great character nevertheless. I love her no nonsense personality and that she's the only mother figure in 5D's who cares for her (adopted) son. And I loved her teasing him and ear pulling XD

Aki's father is an ass, who misses out on their daughter's birthday and bitchslaps them? An ass thats who.

Also, 43's summary makes me wanna punch somebody, more of this forced YxA DNW ><. Seriously if theres anybody Yusei needs to talk to the night before facing the DS its either Jack or Godwin. Jack more likely since the two haven't spoken much since the end of the Fortune Cup. I miss it when half of the show was their relationship or something XD.

EDIT: Nevermind, 43's summary may be false after all, I hope so...

I hope it's fake. Not so much because it's a pairing I don't care for, but because it sounds totally superfluous and distracting from the plot.

I felt bad for Aki, too. But I hope her character matures, because frankly, Luca is more grown up. xD

Kinda harsh on the poor girl aren't you? XD she had a tough past and just say the only person she truly believed cared about her plummet to his death; of course she's going to be a little messed up XD

As for the animation she does always have the worst, but at least the next episode looks pretty decent; about time! XD

And as a faithshipper I really shouldn't talk; but you're looking for character developement and Yuusei's gotta magical character-altering powers! XD Look on the bright side 83
Besides, it's shonen; the chances of them actually pairing, despite any heavey hints, is low XD

I wuved the episode, but I'm looking forward to the next one more :D

Well I do feel sorry and bad for her. Its just Im tired of her acting the way she does and not doing anything likable other than killing people XD

And it looks like the same dude who did 1, 26 and 33 is animating it~

True, I do expect her to some character development soon I hope..

Yusei's reaction after seeing the summary for 43. -------->

I still like her, but mostly because I'm now going with the theory that she's just naturally touched in the head, like Kiryu, and her father helped it along. Meaning her childishness isn't necessarily her fault. And child!Aki was really adorable. Who knows how long I'll keep liking her, though, especially with the episodes coming up.

Also, I agree her dad was horrible. I don't think he was purposefully abusive, but that fact that his automatic response to her powers was to call her a monster, when she's obviously scared and in pain and doesn't know what's going on either, makes me hate his guts. And the neglect didn't help much either. He might want to be a better father, but I honestly don't think he's capable of it.

Martha = WIN. I love her so much. And I might hate YxA with a passion, but Martha teasing Yusei about it, and him pouting, was adorable.

I do agree that he wasn't downright abusive, but to slap her and already neglect her before her powers began still bad.

I try not to read spoilers for 5d's because I love this series and want to experience it myself, but I'm a little behind right now so I felt like it couldn't hurt.

This wasn't exactly my day, and your and everyone else's reactions to it isn't really doing anything to improve it. (Not your fault, just the episode.)
