It was the only sound audible as I braced for the god to come and destroy me with its massive hand. That was the sound of my endless hours of perfection and hard labor unraveling under me. My D-Wheel gave away and I crashed, hitting the gravel back first. I tried to scream in agony and the force tumbling my body around but something pierced directly into my upper chest, suppressing my outburst. I saw visions of a wide spectrum of colors before reaching black and losing full conscious.
When I managed to awaken, I immediately grimaced at the pain and feeling my blood beginning to trickle down my midsection. I heard a laugh that could only come from one person, Kiryu. His laugh was frightening and I could hear it better then before, indicating that he was close. But I was helpless to get away, my whole body numb with shock.
“You’re pathetic Yusei~~” The crazed darkness warrior teased. “You can’t handle the power of a god.”
I only tensed in response. I didn’t lose the duel, which would have spared my life. But I knew I was far from out of danger. Kiryu was dangerous, corrupted by his desires and misunderstandings. My blurry vision could only make out him and the purple flames burning behind him. Why they were still burning was the least of my problems as footsteps approached me coupled with a snicker. My old friend, now turned Dark Signer closer and I could see his hellish eyes now.
I felt an even greater, more rough pain as the debris in my chest sunk deeper. He was forcing the stick deeper inside. I feebly coughed up drops of blood, earning only more laughing at my demise. Outbursts from Crow, and…. Rally? My other friends, I could hear their pleas, asking for mercy upon me. I wanted to jump in so that they wouldn’t have to face the Dark Signer’s wrath. But their calls fell deaf to Kiryu’s ears.
“He’s a damn traitor! He deserves to rot in hell!” He retorted to them.
Kiryu…
Why did it have to end like this? I never betrayed you; I would go to prison a hundred times over so you could walk free. You were practically an older brother to me. Why wouldn’t you listen?
He kick me several times with his shoes in various places, and even though I couldn’t see it with my eyes shut tightly now, I could just sense that vicious smile of his. The ground around me felt wet with blood gushing out of my side. I prayed to myself… for a miracle to occur and save both him and me from this nightmare. I always believed in our bonds, and that is what will rescue him from the strayed path.
Suddenly the stabs at me had come to a halt. Did someone stop him? No there weren’t any sounds of protesting, there was only movement. Was he satisfied? No, hell no. Kiryu never reached satisfaction. He could never stop.
I groaned and I could taste the blood forming at the back of my throat, now becoming sore. The footsteps came closer again, and again Kiryu’s excitement could be sensed with ease.
“Die and go to hell Yusei!” He shouted as loud as he could make it. Something stuck me in neck; I screamed along with my friends as the bones in my neck snapped due to heavy force.
The pain that plagued me had now vanished and the whirls of colors surfaced again before fading out. Except this was different…
I have passed on to afterlife.
The bonds I pictured unbreakable now shattered into dust.
