planetaryWow, I <3 TWEWY, its so rich in animation, color, and sound. The animation is the best damn 2-D animation I've seen on a DS yet, and while the sprites are somewhat fugly, the cut outs of the characters are awesome. I adore the music, its mostly vocal music with a J-Pop feel to it, which I love <3. Im currently on the third day of the first characters BTW.
Ok, so apparently some "news" has been ciculating around that 5D's is going to end with only 52 episodes and for only 1 season. However until I here from NAS themselves that 5D's is going to be that short, Im currently calling this bullshit. For one, YGO stills makes plenty of money to keep NAS and Konami satisfied, so why would they kill a cash cow thats still valuable? Second, there is still way too many loose ends that couldn't be fixed in 20 something episodes. Where and who is the final Signer? Who is the ultimate evil? What about Aracadia and its motives? What about Aki's past, plus Jack and Yusei's? What about the social divide in Neo Domino and Satelitte? Not to mention that its likely that the characters will travel to South America at some point and that Yusei(or probably Jack ATM) is going to get an evil side for tradition's sake. Lastly the only source that is confirming this is ANN which is infamous for reporting rumors as being true. Plus the article only refering to the dub version. 4Kids could easily drop 5D's(they did so with GX's final season)after the first season. Its probably too awesome for 4Kids to handle anyways XD.
I guess one of the reasons though, I don't want YGO to die is because Im so attached to it. In fact, its the closest anime to my heart(but Pokemon is the closest video game series to my heart as well). I grew up on it. I can remember being only around 9 years old when first watching it. And even though I fell out of the fandom for a short time, I never completely abandoned it. I also consider, in a weird way of course, the DM to be my childhood YGO(keep in mind that I only watched the dub DM since I was ignorant of subs), GX to be my teenager YGO(since it started broardcasted during my teenage years) and for 5D's to be my adult anime since I want to picture myself growing up with it. Its just so great to grow up with an anime that has been my favorite of mine for nearly half my life.
Not to mention so many other things that Im attached to many things in the YGO fandom. The most notably being the shippings. I think that JudaixJohan might be my most fav gay couple ever(with HarukaxMichru from Sailor Moon being my lesbian couple), although TouyaxYukito(from CSS) and YamixYugi being pretty damn close. I just love it <3, its got everything I look for in a gay ship except actual confirmation. Not to mention all the other awesome couples like YugixAnzu, MaixJou, JunxAsuka, AmonxEkou, YuseixJack, and AkixDivine.
The other things being all the awesome friends I've made through YGO. Seriously everybody on my Friends List is some of the best online friends I hope that we can stay friends till the cows come home <3. Not to mention LK's awesome abridged series that helped me get back into the fandom and still creates laughs for me to this very day. And Malindachan and her friends and their kickass cosplays are amazing to see, seriously they probably done the best YGO cosplays I've seen yet :). Plus the random videos they take are always fun to watch~
And I fell in love with many of the characters. Mai, who hides behind a shallow exterior because of her insecurites, but deep down she does care for her friends. Kaiba, who's just epic, nuff said. Judai, implusive and rather naive, but is caring and has quite a firey personality. Yusei, who is stoic, but kicks ass and cares for children, not to mention he's hawt <3<3(Yes Im being shallow, IDC).
I know its kinda ridicilous that Im so attached to a series that soley promotes cards, but I can't help but dread the day that the fandom does finally die :'(
