Which kinda, in my POV, amplifies the unintended effect. It's not something completely and utterly out of nowhere, it's something that happens between them frequently. It's normal-but at the same time, it's something that completely undermines the dynamic they have going on, it changes something, causes dissent, and eventually development if played right, methinks. Unfortunately, I can't really think of any button she hasn't pushed that would have such an effect.
But if that said button is pressed, and it leads to both characters having introspection-Carly wondering if she went too far and questioning her motives as a reporter, Jack reflecting that what she said was uncannily correct and it is something he needs to fix/resolve/face, theeeeeen the whole OMAIGAWD CARLIE IS ATTACK'D SAVE HER JYAKKU!plox can happen.
Bonus points if it's somebody involved with the Shadow DroooooonesDAAAAAAKUUUUNEEESSSSUUUUUSHADOW REALM Dark Signers. :D
