wtf LJ

For those unaware of a recent promotion happening on LJ, it is that all perm/paid LJ users can give away ten free coupons to friends for a discount on a paid account.

This would be useful, but since this only works for people who have basic/plus accounts and they still have to fork over money, most people on my friends list would find this useless. Such an excellent gift that requires the receiver to pay :/

Nevertheless, if anybody on my friends list needs a coupon, feel free to ask me. I'm saving a few of them in case LJ changes things and I can distribute them to people I want to gift to, but I have plenty :3

If it's a good enough discount, I would consider using it.

But, yeah, that does sound a little useless, unless you wanted to wait out and expire your paid account, then have one of your friends give you the discount and vice-versa. But that would be kind of annoying. =/

Its only good for half off a year's paid account time. But yeah, its only useful if somebody you give it to can afford to fork over money in the first place, in which they probably already have paid accounts

I don't have a paid account simply because I'm too cheap to pay the full price, but I can afford it.
