wtf LJ

For those unaware of a recent promotion happening on LJ, it is that all perm/paid LJ users can give away ten free coupons to friends for a discount on a paid account.

This would be useful, but since this only works for people who have basic/plus accounts and they still have to fork over money, most people on my friends list would find this useless. Such an excellent gift that requires the receiver to pay :/

Nevertheless, if anybody on my friends list needs a coupon, feel free to ask me. I'm saving a few of them in case LJ changes things and I can distribute them to people I want to gift to, but I have plenty :3

If it's a good enough discount, I would consider using it.

But, yeah, that does sound a little useless, unless you wanted to wait out and expire your paid account, then have one of your friends give you the discount and vice-versa. But that would be kind of annoying. =/
