Just watched the dub premiere of 5D's

~Hyper Drive won the Opening contest, its the only one I liked, but the footage editing is messy. For instance you can see part of Jack's helmet forming in one the scenes
~The MC's voice is really bad, its not funny at all and he doesn't shout random engrish(not that I expected 4Kids to keep that)
~Jack voice annoys me to death, his is probably my least favorite dub voice. An Austrilian accent doesn't fit him at all
~Yusei's voice sounds way too much like Tristan's. Seroiusly, I haven't watched dubbed DM since around 2003 and I still instantly recognized it. And Yuse, what the hell?
~Rally got the better deal in the dub. His gender remains unchanged, his voice is the only decent one, and his lines are translated ok except regarding the chip deal. Too bad he's a minor character
~Ok, Trudge(god why?)and Yusei stop making bullshit about how you guys have already met and are rivals.
~The card explaining scene is really annoying. To quote 7th_rock_alien: "As someone who has no clue how to play the TCG, I don't give a rat's ass what the fucking cards do. I just want to see shit blow up!" My thoughts exactly.
~They keep the sound effects, but changed the counters for no real reason since the original ones were written in english
In the end though, this is 4Kids and they don't give a crap about older fans, just the little kids who can sit down and watch a shitty dub.

I think 4kids is pretty oblivious to the fact that they even have older fans. [although the fact that they changed the last line after the lolz'ing at Comiccon might say otherwise, but hey.] in the end, I doubt they have much of a choice. the YGO franchise was sold to a company that is expected to put out products intended for children, and yeah that sucks for us older kids but there's nothing to be done... except wait for fandubs.
I didn't say anything you don't already know but I felt the need to rant myself -_-
