What the hell fandom @_@

As some of you may or may not know, a person called SheikV had his YT account deleted a few days ago. He had a ton of 5D’s eps uploaded to his account as well.

Janime went absolutely apeshit over this, to the point of death threats. Good god, overreacting much? There’s much more things to get upset about, plus there’s at least five different uploaders for episodes anyway. Even PrismWeapon, the quicksubs uploader, still has her stuff.

So I told them to get off their high horses and stop making a fuss over it and promptly got flamed for it. I also got negged for apparently negging somebody else but I haven’t negged in at least two months and if I do so, I do it anon wise. And another accused me of trolling for having a valid opinion on the matter. Might have been Elly aka if you like GX (or Naruto or Gundam SEED Destiny or any anime she/he hates) you have no right to an opinion what so ever, but idk.

Also people need to stop throwing shit on 4kids for this WHEN THEY ACTUALLY SUPPORT FANSUBS NOW 8U

I've read over that particular thread.... and some things in there made me want to bash my head against the nearest solid surface. Death threats, people? Heh, this reminds me of the whole kerfuffle in the Torchwood fandom, where some nutty people posted death threats to the writers and even to the actors themselves because a popular character had been killed off. The media had a field day with this, of course -- painting the fandom as a whole in a very negative light just because a few wankers went over the line.

I admit, I'm pretty annoyed by the fact that Shriek's account got deleted (mostly since I still need to watch some early Season I episodes and I'm not at all certain if PrismWeapon has them) and my irritation isn't helped by the fact that my favorite GX AMVs got deleted again (thankfully, I managed to save one of them to my hard-drive). Way to go, NAS -- antagonize the Western fans, why don't you? -_-

I'll bet you anything it must have been Elly (for whom I have some epithets that certainly can't be used in civilized company). I doubt there's any other person in this fandom (well, maybe The_Gunder as well) who can make my blood-pressure rise straight into the stratosphere with their very presence. There was someone else as well, in one of those threads, who acted all prissy and offended at the idea of the 10th anniversary special and couldn't stand the idea of the sequels mucking up his 'precious DM'. I'm not even going to mention the blockheads who keep touting the '5Ds is the true/worthy successor of DM' line, because I'd be giving myself a migraine again. ^^;;

Yeah at least a character death is more justifiable then an episode account deleted. But still sometimes character deaths improve the series as a whole *prods Gurren Lagann* But yeah its maddening with the nutcases ruin the fandom as a whole too.

GLL99 I'm fairly certain has some of the early season one uploaded. Hopefully I can find the GX manga MAD amv somewhere on my harddrive or on niconico

True, but it still doesn't warrant the casual tossing about of death-threats -- especially when it's often a vocal minority making the rest of fandom look just as batshit as them.

I'll have to check out his account for that, since I've been mainly using it for GX re-watching. As for those MADs, I have the manga one -- was inspired to download it several weeks ago and it's sitting safely in my computer right now. If you want, I can upload it to a different site than Youtube or send it to you, if you can't find it.

Apparently not, judging by his tone (he was being vigorously contradicted by Gran_Mole, who was pointing out the very same things, but it didn't manage to get more out of him rather than very sarcastic replies. Heh, purists. (And yes -- the basic message of the series seems to have flown right over the heads of many, if what I've seen so far is any indication :p)
